MK Merav Michaeli on the entrance of foreign students to Israel during Corona: This is serious and intolerable discrimination.

Monday, 3.8.20, Merav Michaeli (Labor) and Nitzan Horovitz (Meretz) gave speeches in the Knesset and claimed that there is discrimination in the decision about who is able to enter the country during the Corona pandemic.
Because of the pandemic, it is difficult to get permission to enter the country. Lately, the entrance of 17,000 students was authorized. Among them Yeshiva students.

MK Merav Michaeli (Labor):

“What is happening is serious discrimination against the citizens of Israel who for months have been begging, really begging, the Ministry of the Interior and the Population Authority– begging them to allow their partners, their children, their parents into the country […] there are children who were born to Israelis abroad and have not yet been able to enter the country. They cannot enter the country. Children who have been forced to part with their parents for five months or to live with one of them. And lo and behold citizens can’t bring their spouses in based on these criteria, but 17,000 students, male students not female students, all male Yeshiva students can enter”.
